The sector-specific guidance on vehicle data, released by the Commission, will be an important tool for unlocking vehicle data across EU

CLEPA, as part of the Independent Service Providers (ISP) group, welcomes the entry into force of the EU Data Act and the release of sector-specific guidance for the automotive industry. This marks a key step toward fair and transparent data-sharing. The Data Act grants IoT users rights over the data they generate, obliges data holders to make information accessible, and enables sharing with third parties. For the automotive aftermarket, it lays the foundation for fair access to vehicle data—promoting competition, innovation, and affordable, sustainable mobility services.
