The Position

CLEPA is looking for a Government Affairs Officer to strengthen the work on Trade, Competitiveness and Industrial Policy. The candidate will work closely with the team to analyse policy and market developments, gather data, and support the association’s work on industrial competitiveness and trade.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and knowledge at the intersection of European policy, industry strategy, and global trade dynamics, in one of Europe’s most innovative and transformative sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and collect data to assess the performance of the European automotive supply sector, particularly in trade and investment.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of market intelligence and economic indicators.
  • Compile and visualise key figures and data relevant to the automotive business environment.
  • Contribute to policy analysis on industrial competitiveness, and trade-related files.
  • Monitor relevant EU policy developments and support engagement with members, EU institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute briefing documents, presentations, and meeting minutes for internal and external use.
  • Assist in organising meetings, working groups, and events.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a motivated and analytical individual eager to develop expertise in a fast-evolving and highly strategic industry.

Desired qualifications and skills:

  • University degree in political science, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience (internships included).
  • Strong interest in the automotive and mobility sectors, as well as in EU policy-making.
  • Affinity with economic analysis, trade and industrial policy.
  • Solid research and writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
  • Clear communicator, flexible team player, and proactive mindset.
