CLEPA, alongside other European associations, is urging EU policymakers to avoid rushing the adoption of the Green Claims Directive, citing concerns that the current framework is still unclear, overly complex, impractical, and lacks sufficient harmonisation.

We remain committed to fostering innovation in sustainability and ensuring that consumers receive reliable, transparent information. The ability to communicate effectively is essential for empowering both consumers and businesses in the green transition. From the outset, we have advocated for a clear and proportionate framework on green claims—one that avoids the need for short-term revisions, such as through Omnibus proposals, to correct inconsistencies and mitigate unintended negative impacts of the Directive.
